Classification of Tourist Accommodation
Presentation
Classification of furnished tourist accommodation.
The classification of a furnished tourist accommodation is part of a continuous improvement process in the quality of the services offered to customers. It is a voluntary and committed process on the part of the owner, who wishes to have his property certified by an accredited body. The "furnished accommodation" classification guarantees compliance with standards of habitability and enhances the comfort of the accommodation.
The classification criteria have been modernised by the Order of 24 November 2021 to adapt to the changing consumer habits of tourist customers. Furnished accommodation is classified from 1 to 5 stars according to the level of equipment and facilities in the property, the quality of the service offered and the owner's commitment to a policy of accessibility and sustainable development (selective sorting, energy savings, etc.).

To help you prepare for the classification of your property, we provide you with the Furnished Accommodation Renter's Guide, which outlines the classification procedure step by step, as well as practical information sheets and Atout France's national classification grid for furnished tourist accommodation.

To help you prepare for the classification of your property, we provide you with the Furnished Accommodation Renter's Guide, which outlines the classification procedure step by step, as well as practical information sheets and Atout France's national classification grid for furnished tourist accommodation.
To help you assess your property and plan the classification visit, we have drawn up two practical sheets. These summarise the expectations according to the number of stars you would like. If you don't know how many stars your property is entitled to, use the 1 & 2* sheet as a basis for self-assessment.
