Tourism and Disabilities
Don't hesitate to visit any Tourist Office marked Tourisme Handicap.
The holiday advisors are trained to welcome you and offer a specially adapted welcome booklet listing all the accessible and/or Tourisme Handicap-marked places in their area.
Their smiles and professionalism will make your holiday a memorable one.
Our offices in Arudy, Eaux-Bonnes and Gourette cater for four types of disability:
- Visual impairment: the space is designed to facilitate movement. Information is available in large print and Braille.
- Motor impairment: independent access is possible from the car park. Wide doors, gentle slopes, barrier-free layout, reception counters adapted to accommodate wheelchair users, toilets that comply with accessibility standards.
- Hearing impairment: a hearing aid is available. Audio information is subtitled or available in written format.
- Mental disability: signage is adapted and simplified documentation is available to facilitate understanding.
You will find:
- Parking spaces in front of our offices, including clearly marked disabled spaces.
- A personalised welcome from staff trained to assist you.
- A lowered reception desk.
- Document display stands at a suitable height and accessible to wheelchair users.
- Wide indoor and outdoor walkways with a gentle slope.
