In terms of area, Laruns is the third largest municipality in metropolitan France with 24,894 hectares.
It extends to the Spanish border and includes beautiful natural sites preserved within the Pyrenees National Park (walks to do at the Anéou Circus and the valley of the Brousset).
Several districts form the commune consisting of old houses with religious architectural motifs (scallop shell) or professional (square, compass).

Every 15 August, the inhabitants celebrate Notre Dame and by the grace of costumes, songs and dances make us relive the traditional Béarn.
Every first weekend in October the delicious Ossau cheese is celebrated around many festivities: it is the traditional Cheese Fair.
EAUX-CHAUDES (municipality of Laruns)
The spa has been known since the Middle Ages.
Illustrious figures, French and Spanish, came to take the waters at «Aigas Caudas». In the 19th century, it treated diseases related to fertility, rheumatism of the elderly and the respiratory tract of children. Today, the thermal center offers cures with the following orientations: rheumatology, fybromyalgie, ENT, respiratory tract, asthma in children, rheumatic diseases.
The natural setting of the Eaux-Chaudes is impressive, surrounded by deep gorges and dominated by the surrounding mountains.
It is a good starting point for some walking excursions.
GABAS (municipality of Laruns)
Gabas is known for its cheese saloirs. The cheese of the Ossau Valley is very famous and Laruns celebrates it every first weekend of October during the traditional Cheese Fair.
Gabas was also a stop on the way to Santiago de Compostela. Today only the 12th-century classified chapel remains.
At the exit of the village, a small road open from May to November that provides access to the site of Bious, at the foot of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau.
