A hike on and off-piste from the Cirque d'Anéou, close to the border, up to the Soum de Pombie pass, from where the Pic du Midi d'Ossau "jumps out at us". We walk along the broad ridge to admire it and its "raillère" and become aware of the immensity of the site. Then it's time to tackle the descent of the Vallon de Pombie amidst flowers, herds, marmots and even isards, past shepherd's huts and strange stone circles. And finally, the welcome shade of the forest along the torrent. A real snapshot of the Ossau Valley.
