Via Ferrata / Via Cordata

Presentation

Via Ferrata

Easy and accessible, the Via Ferrata is a route fitted out along rock faces and cliffs using ladders, cables and fixed ropes.
Ideal for those seeking the thrill of heights but who don’t dare to try rock climbing.

The Siala Via Ferrata (Route de Gourette)

A cliff equipped with ladders and secured by cables, this 150-metre-high face allows you to experience the joys of climbing in complete safety.
The route begins with a Nepalese bridge to cross the torrent, followed by an ascending path leading to the ladder rungs. Enjoy the forest atmosphere and the sweeping view over the Valentin waterfalls.
Depending on your ability, the route offers three variants ranging from easy to very difficult, taking between 1 and 3 hours.
Free access for climbers with full equipment: harness, two lanyards, fall arrest device and helmet.
For beginners, guidance from professionals is strongly recommended.

Via Cordata

The Via Corda (or Via Cordata) is a cliff-side adventure course.
Progression is usually horizontal, halfway up the cliff face, along a ledge (natural terrace) whilst roped up.

The Via Cordata du Hourat

In the heart of the Ossau Valley, the Via Cordata du Hourat is situated on the outskirts of Laruns and overlooks the Hourat Gorges, in a lush, water-filled setting, 10 to 20 metres above the Gave d’Ossau.
It features a very exposed 80-metre climbing traverse and a fun, rugged path leading to the highlight of the route: two magnificent rope bridges spanning nearly 20 metres.
Wild and unusual, this spot offers thrills similar to those experienced when climbing.
Guidance from professionals is strongly recommended.
